THE BRONX - Workers at the Westchester Square Medical Center could soon lose their own health care benefits.

Officials say more than 300 people are at risk of losing coverage unless the bankrupt hospital reaches a new financing deal with its lender by midnight Thursday.

The union that represents nurses, clerical workers and other technical hospital staff says it's the hospital's legal responsibility to pay for the benefits. The vice president of the medical center says it is with the union.
