Heart Smart: Bronx doctors warn women about heart disease

THE BRONX - Bronx doctors are warning women about heart disease during American Heart Month.

Doctors say heart disease is the number one killer of women. However, it can be prevented with exercise, a healthy diet and cutting out risk factors such as smoking.

Doctors say if someone feels a numbing pain in the arms or chest, has shortness of breath or dizziness, they could be experiencing a heart attack. Many patients say interpreting the signs quickly and getting to a hospital saved their lives.
