CLASON POINT - Heavy rain pounded The Bronx today, causing severe flooding in some areas.

In Clason Point, some residents headed out to Stephens Avenue with fishing poles after a nearby pond overflowed. However, workers in East Tremont didn't have as much fun in the rain as water swept through the doors of area businesses.

Several local streets in Throgs Neck were also left underwater, but most residents said they tried to make the best of the wet situation and hope that everything dries out soon.
