PARKCHESTER - The heavy snow falling in the Bronx caused some property damage this morning in Parkchester.

The awning at the Flower Shack store collapsed almost to street level from the weight of the snow and ice on top of it.

Someone who lives nearby says he heard the crash at around 9 a.m. The store remains closed today.
