THE BRONX - A Bronx garden sitting just below the Metro-North Line and just above the 4 and 5 trains was spruced up today with the help of Heineken.
About 100 people came out to help plant seeds, make vegetable beds and remove debris from La Finca del Sur Community Garden, located at 138th Street and Grand Concourse in the South Bronx.
Stacy Tank, of Heineken, says it’s always rewarding to help out the local community.
“It's a huge space. It's 3 acres here and it feels like a secret garden,” she said.
The event was part of the company’s day of giving.
The garden is open to the public to buy fresh fruits and vegetables on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Friday, Nov. 1.
