THE BRONX - Construction on the Henry Hudson Bridge is underway and some new features are in store for commuters.

MTA officials say the project on the Henry Hudson Bridge is part of an effort to bring the bridge and tolling facility into the 21st century. To do this, the MTA plans to tear down all of the toll plazas and booths.

According to the MTA, drivers will be able to pay with E-ZPass without stopping at a toll booth. MTA officials say that will provide a more seamless service.

Work to remove the toll plazas and booths is scheduled to start in 2017. It is expected to be complete by 2020.
