WAKEFIELD - Police have made an arrest in the hit-and-run that killed a father in Wakefield yesterday.
Henry Lawrence, 22, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of murder. Family members say victim Derrick Callender, 32, did not know him.
Police say Lawrence's 1988 Toyota Sienna jumped the curb and struck Callender on East 233rd Street, just feet from his apartment. Investigators believe Lawrence and a group of men left a liquor store on the street after arguing with the owner, who refused to sell them alcohol.
