THE BRONX - Some hip-hop pioneers gathered in the Bronx today in support of an organization dedicated to preserving peace, love and unity within the community.
Grandmaster Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz, Grand Wizzard Theodore and Afrika Bambaata were in Norwood for a photo shoot sponsored by Metro Optics.
The pioneers were also representing Windows of Hip Hop, a Bronx-based economic development project whose mission is to assess and develop projects that represent the core principles of hip-hop and social action.
Their goal is to eventually build a museum of hip-hop in the Bronx, where the culture began.
