THE BRONX - A city initiative that taps into the power of music to get young people on the right track to better health is going national.

Hip Hop Public Health aims to eliminate health illiteracy based on educational lessons that use hip-hop music to motivate and excite kids.

The program has students between 3rd and 6th grades attending "health concerts" with musically-inclined health educators to help them make better food choices.

The initiative has been beat-boxing through New York City for the past eight years, but it’s now expanding after teaming with Partnership for America. It's album, Songs for America, can also be found on iTunes for free.
