Holiday shopping frenzy reigns at local malls

THE BRONX - Shoppers rushed to the stores on Christmas Eve in an attempt to beat the clock and snap up last-minute presents.

At Bruckner Plaza, procrastinating purchasers flooded the stores, many of which extended their hours and offered last-minute deals and sales to attract customers.

People were advised to use public transportation to reach their shopping destinations in order to avoid heavy traffic and congested parking lots.
