THE BRONX - A group of Bronx students will be joining thousands of other people in the annual March for Life rally in the nation's capitol this weekend.

More than 20 kids from Holy Cross School in Soundview boarded a bus to Washington, D.C. for the annual protest demanding an end to abortion. The march comes just days after the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.

According to the city's Health Department, nearly half of all Bronx pregnancies ended in abortion in 2010. Many in New York say they're standing behind a woman's right to choose.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo spoke about abortion during his State of the State address this month. He's pushing for legislation that would allow a woman to get a late-term abortion if she faces serious health complications.
