THE BRONX - (AP) - Support is building behind President BarackObama's health care legislation in the House. That's the result ofintense lobbying and politically targeted changes aimed atreassuring wavering lawmakers and winning over critics. The White House and Democratic leaders are trumpeting two newconverts to their cause, as retiring Rep. Bart Gordon, D-Tenn., andfirst-term Rep. Betsy Markey, D-Colo., announced their support.They'd opposed an earlier version of the legislation. Obama is to talk up the sweeping overhaul in a midday speechFriday in Virginia, his fourth outside-the-Beltway event in twoweeks. The House plans to vote on the bill Sunday.
