THE BRONX - The city's Housing Authority is kicking off National Safety Month with a new elevator safety campaign.

The campaign explains to residents what they should look for before stepping into it.

It also offers tips for what to do if you find yourself stuck inside.

The city's Housing Authority has more than 3,300 elevators operating around the clock at hundreds of developments across the city.
