THE BRONX - A talented 12-year-old from the Bronx belted out a spirited version of “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch at Citi Field this past weekend.

Huchela Delacruz says that she was nervous about singing in front of so many people at the Mets game, but was relieved when she heard their applause. She is now thinking about the next step in her singing career.

“When you sing, you really want to get to the top," says Delacruz.

She credits the Columbus Clubhouse at the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club with helping her reach her goals.

Delacruz says she hopes to continue following her dream of being a professional singer while getting a college degree.
