Hundreds mourn slain Bronx high school senior

THE BRONX - Hundreds are continuing to mourn the death of a 17-year-old Bronx high school football star who was fatally shot over the weekend.

Kurt Lawrence was gunned down at around 2 a.m. Saturday on E. 175th Street in Crotona Park. He was a senior at Kennedy Heights High School and had planned on attending college.

Lawrence's loved ones say he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and they want his killer brought to justice. A makeshift memorial outside the teen's home keeps growing as more than 130 comments have been left on the News 12 The Bronx Facebook page.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
