Hundreds of runners get some exercise in holiday marathon

THE BRONX - Before sitting down to their Thanksgiving feasts, hundreds of runners in The Bronx decided to get in a little exercise at Van Cortlandt Park.

About 1,200 runners hit the trails at Van Cortlandt Park today for The Bronx Marathon and Holiday Fun Run.

Most of the runners brought out a donation for a local food bank in the spirit of Thanksgiving.

The 26.2-mile run was open to runners of all fitness levels.

Each runner received a fork for finishing the race.

Since runners could choose their distances, the further they ran, the larger the fork that they received.
