THE BRONX - Bronx residents gathered today to honor the hundreds of nurses of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York who responded to Superstorm Sandy by logging countless hours to help patients.
Maife Santillan, the primary nurse at the Assisted Living facility, stayed with her team to help regardless of the facility losing electricity for six days.
The non-profit hosted a company-wide ceremony at 13 locations, including The Bronx to recognize the hard work of all of its staff.
