Hundreds partake in Van Cortlandt Park marathon

THE BRONX - More than 500 New Yorkers celebrated their Labor Day in the Bronx by running in the first Labor Day Marathon at Van Cortlandt Park.

Runners of all ages joined the festivities -- walking, jogging and running to the finish line. Hosts of the event say Van Cortlandt Park is the perfect place for holiday races.

Organizers say the next holiday race on the list will take place on Halloween.
