Hundreds race in Van Cortlandt Park holiday marathon

VAN CORTLANDT PARK - Hundreds of Bronx residents laced up for a July 4 marathon through Van Cortlandt Park this morning. Decked out in red, white and blue attire, runners participated in either a full or half marathon, or a 10K race. The event is part of the borough's free racing program, aimed at combating obesity throughout The Bronx.Races are held on every national holiday, with the next one falling on Labor Day.
