Hunt is on for Gerard Ave. sex attack suspect

THE BRONX - Police are searching for the man they say sexually assaulted a woman inside an apartment building at East 158th Street and Gerard Avenue Saturday.

According to authorities, the suspect followed his 27-year-old victim into the lobby of the building, forced her into a stairwell and sexually assaulted her.

Neighbors say they want more security in the area because there are many college students who live nearby and walk home alone.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
