THE BRONX - More than 40 million pounds of produce were trucked out of the Bronx on what the Hunts Point Terminal Market calls its busiest day of the year.

Truckers picked up their cargo and took shipments to local supermarkets and restaurants on Tuesday, with just two days to go before Thanksgiving.

Vendors say was all hands on deck since the majority of the fruits and vegetables hitting the table for New Yorkers this Thursday will have come from the market.

The amount of produce sold on the Tuesday leading up to Thanksgiving each year is double the amount that the Hunts Point Market typically provides on a daily basis.
