Husband of slain BX mom arrested, charged with 2nd-degree murder

The estranged husband of a Bronx mother found murdered alongside the Taconic State Parkway last week has been arrested on the same day his wife

THE BRONX - The estranged husband of a Bronx mother found murdered alongside the Taconic State Parkway last week has been arrested on the same day his wife was laid to rest.

Former NYPD housing officer Eddy Coello, 38, was taken into custody at the 45th Precinct at around 2:30 p.m. He was charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of Tina Adovasio, 40.

Officials say Coello has a history of domestic violence, including a pair of incidents with his late wife. Adovasio reportedly filed for divorce shortly before her death.

Coello will be arraigned tomorrow morning. His lawyer says he will plead not guilty to the murder charge.
