State officials are encouraging New Yorkers to get out and go to one of the many parks in the city for "I love my Park Day," which officially begins Saturday. (5/6/16)

NEW YORK - State officials are encouraging New Yorkers to get out and go to one of the many parks in the city for "I Love My Park Day," which officially begins Saturday. 

They say the event aims to get New Yorkers outside and into parks across New York. 

Volunteer events are scheduled across the state where participants can help plant trees, restore trails and pick up trash at over 100 parks.
