THE BRONX - Belmont residents are making a plea for help at a busy intersection that is plagued by illegal left-hand turns.

Neighbors say drivers constantly use the outer right lane on Southern Boulevard to make a left turn onto Fordham Road. They worry there will be a major accident if a traffic cop isn't stationed at the intersection.

One resident, Barbara E. Panzanella, says she's been calling the Department of Transportation (DOT), her local assemblyman and even the police for help. The DOT says it's looking into the problem.
