THE BRONX - More than 500 subway station agents will not lose their jobs soon after a judge temporarily stopped planned layoffs with an injunction.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority workers were slated to turn in their badges soon. However, the injunction states the workers will have to wait longer to find out the fate of their positions.

An MTA official will testify before the judge this morning to explain the layoffs. The agency says it needs to cut workers to make up for an $800 million budget shortfall.
