Investigation ongoing in Hunts Point scrap metal fire

THE BRONX - Authorities are working to determine the cause of an explosion at a Bronx scrap metal yard Monday afternoon.

The incident sparked a fire in the middle of the yard at 13-40 East Bay Ave. in Hunts Point at 2 p.m. yesterday. There were no injuries reported, but the loud sound startled people in the surrounding area.

The investigation is unknown.
