THE BRONX - Officials are investigating the cause of a fatal fire that ripped through an apartment on Valentine Avenue in Fordham early this morning.

Police say flames erupted in a third-floor apartment before 3:30 a.m. They say 82-year-old Mary Mullen was found dead inside her home.

According to fire officials, 60 firefighters were able to contain the flames to Mullen's apartment. They say no one else was injured.

The FDNY says it hasn't ruled anything out as a possible cause for the fire.
