THE BRONX - Some Bronx students studying Italian were in for a treat when a well-known chef stopped by their school for a visit.

Lidia Bastianich, who is also an Emmy-winning TV host and author, was welcomed into Saint Raymond Elementary School with the Italian national anthem Monday.

Bastianich recently released an Italian children's book, and gave the kids some practice speaking the language.

The students have been studying the Italian language and country for the past three years thanks to the Italian American Committee on Education, which pays for a part-time Italian teacher through a grant program.
