Community leaders and neighbors gathered at Jacobi Medical Center this morning to pay tribute to the 156 Bronx residents who lost their lives on Sept.

THE BRONX - Community leaders and neighbors gathered at Jacobi Medical Center this morning to pay tribute to the 156 Bronx residents who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

The day of remembrance began with a solemn procession to the memorial garden at Jacobi Medical Center to mark the ninth anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

"Nine years ago, I lost many close friends in the Throggs Neck area," says Nancy Schoenstein. "It's a day I will never forget."

Flowers were laid during the ceremony to mark the moments when the twin towers collapsed. Tributes were also given to the victims, their families and the first responders who worked at Ground Zero.
