Jetro restaurant expansion to bring jobs to The Bronx

HUNTS POINT - Jetro Cash and Carry has announced plans to expand into the Bronx, possibly bringing hundreds of jobs to the borough.

The popular restaurant supply chain broke ground on a new facility at Oak Point Street today. The Bronx borough president's office estimates the new facility will create about 200 jobs.

The borough secured $5 million in funding from the International Development Association so the facility could undergo an environmentally friendly expansion.

The company's CEO, Stanley Fleischmann, says he hopes Jetro's new location will be completed by this time next year.
