THE BRONX - Screenwriter, producer and actor Joey Dedio had his new movie “Tio Papi” premiere in the Bronx this week.
The PG-rated movie is about a carefree New York City bachelor who longs for the good life in Miami. His life changes in one night when his sister and her husband are killed in a car crash, and he is left the caretaker of their six kids.
The film, which has a positive message about love and family, was shot in Washington Heights. It premiered at the Bronx Museum of the Arts on Wednesday night and will be released in theaters on Friday.
Dedio, who is Hispanic-American, was born in the Bronx and attended Fordham University. He says he could not have chosen a better place than home to hold the premiere.
