THE BRONX - The Bronx has a new Republican Party chairman.

John Greaney will serve the remainder of Joseph Savino's term following his arrest and resignation in a federal corruption probe last week.

Prosecutors say Savino accepted $15,000 as part of a deal to help Democratic state Sen. Malcolm Smith get on the Republican ticket in the race for New York City mayor.

Savino says he's innocent.
