THE BRONX - Police say a man has been arrested after turning himself in for possession of an illegal poisonous chemical and telling police he had more of it at home.

Last Friday, police say Jonathan Norling, 22, went to the 49th Precinct saying he had cyanide with him. He was arrested Saturday.

Police say they tested the substance Norling brought and that it was cyanide. Norling reportedly told police he had more of the poison at his apartment.

Police searched his apartment on Cruger Avenue overnight, where they say they found more cyanide.

Police returned to his home Wednesday. They say Norling's wife and child were sent to the hospital but have since been released.

Norling has been charged with unlawful possession of a noxious material. Authorities say Norling is getting a psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital.
