Jose Maldonado wanted for setting girlfriend Prisila Zapata on fire

THE BRONX - Authorities are continuing their search for a man who they say set his girlfriend on fire during a domestic dispute.

According to investigators, 43-year-old Jose Maldonado threw alcohol on 29-year-old Prisila Zapata and then lit her on fire on Jan. 11.

The victim's mother, Elsa Padilla, says the two have had an on-and-off relationship, and have a 12-year-old daughter together.

Zapata remains in the hopsital with burns to her face, arms and torso. Her mother says she is recovering and will have reconstructive surgery.
