Kingsbridge Avenue businesses without power again

THE BRONX - Several businesses on Kingsbridge Avenue are without power again tonight, leaving frustrated owners and employees wondering when the problem will come to an end.

Last month, a transformer exploded, causing dozens of stores to lose power. This time, the power suddenly went out around 11 a.m. on Friday, just one month after the transformer explosion. The power outages cause the businesses to lose thousands of dollars in sales.

One business owner was forced to replace a compressor, costing him close to $5,000. The owner hoped that Con Ed would pay him for the damage, but has since received a letter denying his claim.

Con Ed has crews on the scene trying to restore the power.
