THE BRONX - A community-based organization is hoping to bring a greater awareness of child sex abuse victims.
During Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Awareness month, the Kingsbridge Heights Community Center is spotlighting the subject through a public screening tonight.
Community Center Director Billye Jones-Mulraine says the film will use children's voices as a way to talk about the issue.
The movie explains that prevention begins with empowering children, asking the right questions and parents opening the line of communication with toddlers.
Jones-Mulraine says she hopes viewers and victims watch the screening so they can start the road to recovery.
The KHCC will have a number of events this month, including a presentation by Lehman College students and Denim Day.
