Kingsbridge tenants fed up with garbage pile

KINGSBRIDGE - Tenants of a building on Strong Street in Kingsbridge say they are fed up with the amount of garbage piling up in their courtyard.

The super of the building says the trash only consists of construction materials used to renovate two apartments in the building.

Tenants claim it is filled with garbage and debris that has been growing for more than six months. They say the pile is higher than six feet in some areas, apartments are becoming infested with roaches and rodents and that the stench is unbearable.

The Department of Sanitation issued the landlord citations today for exposed garbage and standing water and an inspector from the Department of Health is expected to visit the property tomorrow.
