THE BRONX - A Bronx mother is outraged after finding her son locked in a community center closet.
According to Monique Hunt, her 7-year-old son, Lapray, went missing Friday night after she dropped him off at the Bronx River Community Center, where he attends an after-school program every day.
Lapray never made it to his grandmother's home that night, leading to a massive five-hour search around the neighborhood. The boy was finally found alone in a closet at the center after it was reopened for a police search.
Lapray says a 12-year-old child shoved him in the closet and left him there.
The Department of Youth and Community Development says it is taking this matter very seriously and will be conducting a thorough investigation of the incident.
Hunts says she's taking her son to therapy, and wants the center to implement stricter safety policies to prevent the same thing from happening to another child.
