Lawmakers, tenants rally to keep rents low

THE BRONX - Bronx tenants and lawmakers held a vigil yesterday asking to keep borough rents affordable.

Many chanted and held signs in front of the Bronx County building in support of rent regulation laws. Participants say making it more difficult for landlords to increase rent will give low-income families a chance to stay in the borough.

A bill supporting rent regulation is up for vote in the Senate on June 15.
