THE BRONX - Parents are irate the Department of Education is planning to close John F. Kennedy High School and they were never told of the change.

Parents found out of the planned closure through an internal document leaked to the New York Times. The document states the school will be replaced by two charter schools.

The document outlines 26 city schools the DOE plans to close due to poor grades. City Council member Ydanis Rodriguez says he is disappointed parents were not notified by the department.
