Lehman's Lady Lightning have banner night

THE BRONX - Lehman College had two reasons to celebrate at their women's basketball CUNY Conference opener.

A championship banner was raised in a pre-game ceremony at the APEX Arena honoring the Lady Lightning's CUNY Conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance last season.

After the ceremony, the Lightning continued to prove their electricity on the court with a blowout win over the squad from Medgar Evers. The team routed the Cougars in a 68-34 win.

Junior forward Sally Nnamani helped lead the team to victory, scoring 13 of the Lightning's first 22 points. Nnamani would end up with 20 points, five blocks and five rebounds.
