BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Lindsay Lohan was taken into custody at a Beverly Hills courtroom to begin her jail sentence today.
The "Mean Girls" star was sentenced to 90 days in jail earlier this month after a judge determined she violated her probation.
She is likely to serve far less time due to jail overcrowding.
Lohan arrived about 10 minutes late and was accompanied by attorney Shawn Chapman Holley and her mother.
TMZ.com is reporting that famed attorney Robert Shapiro quit the case just days after agreeing to represent the troubled actress. His reason for quitting has not yet been disclosed.
AP wire services were used in this report.
