Livery driver killed in Morris Heights

MORRIS HEIGHTS - (AP) - An early morning cab ride in Morris Heights turned fatal for the driver.

Police responding to a crash scene just before 1 a.m. Sunday found 37-year-old Roberto Peter, who had been shot multiple times while driving a passenger on Davidson Avenue in the Bronx. The vehicle had then crashed into the back of a Bronx school.

Peter was pronounced dead at the scene. Police arrested the passenger, who was taken to an area hospital to be treated for face and hip injuries.

Authorities recovered a firearm at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
