Local business inspires Bronx residents to hike the borough

THE BRONX - A Bronx-based company wants to help you take things to a whole new level.

Vertically Inclined takes people on guided hikes all over the city, including places like Hunter Island in the Bronx.

The company was founded by Bronx native Brenda Gorczynski and her husband Ed. The duo says they were compelled to make their hiking programs affordable.

"I think it's an opportunity for (kids) to see that other than the street corners and the local parks, there are places that you can go to," Brenda says.
