THE BRONX - Bronx residents braved the bone-chilling temperatures as best as they could Friday, but unfortunately for local street vendors, the cold weather kept some customers away.

A coffee and donut stand located outside the Fordham Road train station is normally a prime spot for foot traffic. However, vendor Maria says fewer customers stopped by because of the frigid weather.

The snowy weather doesn't mean that business is bad for everyone, however. Stuart Hirschtritt, who owns Fordham Supply Co., says he hopes that Bronx residents will buy shovels and salt in anticipation of the snow expected Saturday. He says salt is already in demand.

Many residents told News 12 The Bronx that they have had enough of the cold weather, especially because it is not even officially winter yet.
