Long lines at Fordam food stamp office irk residents

THE BRONX - Residents say they are frustrated at long lines outside of a Fordham public assistance center and their patience is wearing out.

Residents say they begin to line up around 5 a.m. at the social services center. Many say they wait nearly two hours, and some say they have seen people become ill waiting in the heat.

The Human Resources Administration says it will look into the complaints about the center. The agency says overcrowding rules are strictly enforced at all centers.
