THE BRONX - A Bronx barbershop in danger of closing after 54 years in business has been spared its final cut.

As News 12 previously reported, Marble Hill's International Unisex on West 228th Street received a 30-day eviction notice from its landlord back in December, for no apparent reason.

Owner Roosevelt Spivey, affectionately known in the neighborhood as "Rosey," says he was eventually told that the landlord wanted to open a real estate office in his space.

Fortunately, local officials and a loyal group of longtime customers were able to help save the shop. Spivey has now signed a new lease for five more years.
