Macombs Dam Park opens

THE BRONX - Macombs Dam Park opened today as part of the Yankee Stadium redevelopment program but not all residents are happy.

The $35 million facility was built along with the Joseph Yancey Track and Field to replace the old Yankee Park.

Residents are angry the park was built on the rooftop of Ruppert Plaza Garage, which limits play space. They say it is just a small part of 'greening' the area.

The park features a 400-meter track, eight handball courts, four basketball courts and picnic tables.
