THE BRONX - Residents in the James Monroe houses are seeing their mail delivered again after two months.

A panel of mailboxes for the 32 apartments at the Soundview Avenue complex broke in late July. Residents say they were not fixed until recently because of a miscommunication between tenants and the New York City Housing Authority.

Residents say the lack of delivered mail was hard on the elderly and disabled, who had to trek to the post office each day.

A manager for the post office told News 12 that mail delivery was also stopped because of bad conditions in the lobby regarding lighting and uncleanliness.
