THE BRONX - For the first time in nearly three years, Bronx residents heading to the post office will have to dish out more change for postage.

According to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), the price of forever stamps is going up by a penny starting Jan. 22. It will also cost an extra 3 cents for postcards and an additional 5 cents for mail to Canada and Mexico.

USPS officials say the changes will create close to $900 million in revenue over the course of a year after suffering $10 billion in losses during the last fiscal year.

The USPS has already asked the government for permission to cut Saturday delivery, allow drastic layoffs and shut down branches across the country.
